Abstract
The Bonneville Power Administration (BPA) has installed a state of the art modelling system to enhance efficient operation of the Federal Columbia River Power System (FCRPS). Multiple objectives (including power, fisheries, flood control, recreation, environment and navigation) place significant constraints on system operation. BPA commissioned Acres Productive Technologies to implement the Vista decision support system. This article describes the main objectives of the system and details its hydro scheduling and planning features.
