Hatch has more than 30 years of experience in planning, designing, building, commissioning and operating coal preparation plants (CPP) and associated coal handling plants, including rejects management and tailings disposal.

Our hands-on experience ranges from engineering designs and installations through to feasibility studies, extensive plant upgrades, and full EPCM delivery of new preparation plants and supporting infrastructure.
We have been involved in many greenfield projects as an ‘Owner’s Engineer’, in which our professionals focus on the reliability, accessibility, maintainability, constructability and operability of clients’ coal preparation plant designs.

For brownfield projects, where the mine and the CPP are already in operation, we help clients deliver upgrades or expansions while minimizing disruption to their production output.  Our teams use an innovative approach to coal preparation plant solutions and detailed planning techniques for these frequently more difficult initiatives.
