Canada: Endako Molybdenum Mine Expands
Expansion project increases capacity at Endako molybdenum mine
The $498-million Endako expansion project in British Columbia will increase the molybdenum ore processing capacity of the existing Endako mine to 52,000 tonnes per day. The mine is owned by Thompson Creek Mining and Sojitz Canada Corporation.
The project includes construction of a new process plant to replace the existing one, which has been operational for nearly 50 years. The new process plant will house milling and flotation equipment together with ore stockpiling and supporting infrastructure.
The new, more efficient design will increase the throughput tonnage and improve the overall recovery of the Endako mine’s processing facility, while significantly reducing the average operating cost per tonne of product.
