Australia:  Karratha Gas-Fired Power Station

Hatch works with ATCO Power as Owner’s Engineer and in post-commissioning

The Karratha power plant is the most efficient gas-fired power station in the Pilbara’s North West Interconnected System

The Karratha power plant, in the Pilbara region of Western Australia, is comprised of two high-efficiency gas turbines, producing 86 megawatts. The gas turbines are arranged for future conversion to a combined cycle by the addition of heat recovery steam generators and a steam turbine generator. The power station will supply electricity to residential and business consumers in Australia’s North West Interconnected System.

Hatch was retained by ATCO Power to act as Owner’s Engineer for the Karratha project. We continued to support ATCO during the post-commissioning period, providing engineering and project support for the completion of ongoing items and improvement projects.
