Chile: Chacayes Hydroelectric Project
Pacific Hydro Chile is developing the 111-megawatt Chacayes hydroelectric project in the Alto Cachapoal River basin. The project includes diversion dams, a daily regulation pond, a desander, canals, tunnels, and a surface powerhouse.
Hatch prepared the basic design and definition designs for the project as well as the Owner’s technical requirements. As Owner’s Engineer, Hatch will review and assess the engineering, procurement and construction contractor’s detailed drawings and specifications.
The Chacayes project has reached two key milestones in the construction phase. In August 2010, the Alto Cachapoal River was diverted to flow through the partially completed main diversion structure. |
